YouTube Dislike Viewer

See the dislikes YouTube no longer shows — paste a video link and get likes, dislikes, the ratio and rating, with the video right there.

Counts come from the Return YouTube Dislike project's public API, straight from your browser. Nothing is sent to our server.

How it works

How to see dislikes on a YouTube video?

  1. Paste the video link

    youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, a Short — or just the eleven-character video ID.

  2. Press Show dislikes

Your browser asks the Return YouTube Dislike API for the video’s counts. Nothing goes through our server.

  3. Read the numbers

Likes and dislikes side by side, the like ratio as a bar, the rating out of five, views, and the video itself to watch.

  4. Share it

Copy gives you a link to this page that opens with the video already looked up.

Where it pays off

When does the dislike count matter?

Before you watch

A tutorial with a 40% dislike ratio is usually wrong or outdated. Ten seconds here saves twenty minutes there.

Your own uploads

Studio shows you your dislikes, but not a competitor’s. Compare how a topic lands across channels.

Reviews and unboxings

A sponsored review with heavy dislikes tells you what the comments section is arguing about.

News and statements

Public reaction to an announcement or apology video, in one number the uploader cannot switch off.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where do the dislike counts come from?

From the Return YouTube Dislike project. It archived real dislike counts before YouTube removed them in December 2021 and has extrapolated since from the votes of its browser-extension users, combined with the video’s current like count and views. Likes, views and the rating come from YouTube directly.

How accurate is the number?

For popular videos, close — the project has millions of contributing users and its estimates track well against the numbers channel owners see in Studio. For small or very new videos with few extension users watching, treat it as an estimate. Videos uploaded before 2022 usually carry their real archived count.

Why did YouTube hide dislikes?

In November 2021 YouTube said it wanted to protect smaller creators from targeted dislike campaigns. Creators still see dislikes in Studio; viewers no longer see them under the video. This tool puts the number back for viewers.

What is the rating out of five?

The like ratio expressed the way YouTube once did it — five stars for all likes, one for all dislikes. It is a plain function of the two counts, handy for comparing videos of very different sizes at a glance.

What if it says there is no data?

The video ID was not found on the dislike API. Check the link — private and unlisted videos are not tracked, and a video that went up minutes ago may not have been seen by any extension user yet. Try again later.

Do you store the link or the counts?

No. The request goes from your browser straight to the Return YouTube Dislike API; our server is not involved. The Copy button gives you a link with the video ID in it, and that is all it carries.
