Profile Picture Maker

Crop to the circle platforms show, add a background or ring, and export at the exact size each one needs — privately, with no watermark.

How it works

How to make a profile picture?

  1. Open a photo

Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP — it stays on your device. No photo? Use initials instead.

  2. Put your face in the circle

Drag, zoom and rotate until your face sits cleanly in the circle platforms show.

  3. Give it an edge

Add a colour, gradient, blur, ring or filter — and pick a shape beyond a circle.

  4. Take the size you need

Download one platform size, or grab every size as a ZIP in one click.

Sizes

Profile picture size for every platform

Upload sizes, not display sizes. A platform stores far less than it accepts and draws far less than it stores, so the number to give it is the one in the middle column — and the reason to care is the third. If you only want one file, 1024×1024 covers everything here.

PlatformUploadWhat it does with it
Universal1024×1024One square that is enough for every platform on this list. Start here if you only want one file.
Instagram1080×1080Stored at 320 px and shown as a circle about 110 px across.
Facebook1080×1080Shown at 170 px on desktop and 128 px on a phone.
X / Twitter400×400X stores 400×400 and shows a circle. Anything larger is resized on upload.
LinkedIn800×800400×400 is the minimum it accepts; 8 MB is the file limit.
WhatsApp640×640Shown at about 140 px, and cropped to a circle in every list.
Discord512×512Shown at 128 px on a profile and as small as 32 px next to a message.
YouTube800×800800×800 is the recommendation; it appears at 98 px on a channel page.
TikTok500×500200×200 is the minimum. Shown as a circle throughout the app.
Twitch256×256256×256 is the maximum Twitch accepts.
Reddit256×256Reddit stores 256×256 for an avatar.
GitHub500×500Shown as a rounded square, so the corners survive here.
Slack512×512Shown as a rounded square at 36–72 px beside a message.
Telegram512×512Shown as a circle in every chat list.

The ZIP button renders the whole table in one press, one file per row, each named for where it goes. Sizes that repeat are encoded once and shared, so the 14 files cost 8 renders.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What size should a profile picture be?

Square, and larger than the platform displays it. 1024×1024 covers every size in the list here.

Is this free, and does the export have a watermark?

Yes — free, no watermark, no sign-in. Download as many as you like.

Does my photo get uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser; your photo never leaves your device.

Can I get a circular picture with a transparent background?

Yes. Set the background to Transparent and export as PNG or WebP.

Can it remove the background behind me?

No. Use the blurred-photo background instead to separate you from the frame.

Why does it show the picture at 96, 48 and 32 pixels?

That’s how avatars actually appear — on profiles, in chats, and next to comments.
