Telegram Link Generator
Your username, phone number, group or channel as a t.me link — with the tg:// app link, a share link with ready text and a QR code, each one tap to copy.
Type it with or without the @, or paste any t.me link — a phone number or invite moves to its own tab.
Added as ?text=: it waits in their message box, and nothing is sent until they press send. Current Telegram apps fill it in; very old ones open the chat without it.

What opens when they tap it
With no message the box is empty, and they type their own.

How it works
How to create a Telegram link?
Pick what to link to
A username (yours, a channel’s, a public group’s or a bot’s), a phone number, a private group’s invite, or a share link that passes a message on. Pasting a whole t.me link works too — it is sorted into the right tab.
Type it however you have it
With the @, as a full https://t.me/ link, with spaces or a post number on the end. It is cleaned into what Telegram expects, checked against the username rules, and every change is listed under the box.
Add the extras
A ready message that waits in their chat box, a single post of your channel, or a start parameter for your bot. The preview shows the screen the link opens.
Copy it, or make it a QR code
Each link has its own Copy button: the t.me link for bios and posts, the tg:// link for apps, an HTML button for a website. The QR code tab turns the same link into a PNG, JPG or SVG code.
In the app
How to find and copy your Telegram link
Telegram already has a link for anything with a username — it is just a few taps deep. Here is where each one lives in the app, on Android, iPhone and desktop alike.
Your own profile link
Open Settings and tap Username (on iPhone: Settings → Edit → Username). Under the box Telegram shows “This link opens a chat with you” and your https://t.me/ link — tap it to copy. No username yet? Choose one on the same screen; without one there is no profile link, only a phone number link.
A public channel or group
Open it and tap its name at the top. The info page lists the t.me link — tap or long-press it to copy, or use Share. Admins can set or change it under Edit → Channel type (or Group type) → Public.
A private group or channel
Only admins have its link: open its info → Edit → Invite Links, then copy the primary link, or create a new one with a limit on uses, an expiry date or join requests that need your approval. Revoke a link there to make it stop working.
One message or post
Long-press the message (right-click on a computer) and choose Copy Link. Channels and public groups give a t.me/name/123 link anyone can open; private ones give a t.me/c/ link that only opens for members.
Your Telegram QR code
Settings has a QR code icon at the top that shows your username as a code. It needs a username, though, and it only comes in the app’s own styles — the QR code tab above makes one for any link here, in print sizes.
The format
Every kind of Telegram link
A Telegram link is a web address on t.me that the Telegram app claims on every phone and computer it is installed on. Nothing has to be registered: the link is the username, number or invite code, plus anything the app should do on arrival.
| Link | What it does |
|---|---|
| t.me/username | Opens the chat, channel, group or bot with that username. The form Telegram itself shows, and the one for bios and posts. |
| t.me/username?text=Hi%20there | The same chat with “Hi there” waiting in the message box. The text is URL-encoded: %20 is a space, %0A a new line. |
| t.me/+14155550132 | A chat with whoever has this number — only if their privacy settings let people find them by number. Full international number, digits only. |
| t.me/+AbCdEfGhIjKlMnOp | An invite to a private group or channel. The older t.me/joinchat/AbCd… form opens the same invite. |
| t.me/channel/125 | One post in a public channel or group, opened and highlighted. |
| t.me/c/1234567890/125 | A post in a private channel or group — opens only for its members. |
| t.me/s/channel | A public channel’s recent posts as a web page, readable without the app or an account. |
| t.me/yourbot?start=ref_42 | Opens a bot with a START button; pressing it sends /start ref_42, which the bot reads. ?startgroup= adds the bot to a group instead. |
| t.me/share/url?url=…&text=… | Opens Telegram’s chat picker with a link and text ready to send — the “Share on Telegram” button. |
| tg://resolve?domain=username | The app link: skips the browser and opens Telegram directly. Every t.me link has a tg:// twin — tg://join?invite=, tg://msg_url?url= and so on. |
Getting it right
Why Telegram links break — and what gets fixed
A broken link opens Telegram and then says the username does not exist. It is nearly always one of the cases below, so the tool cleans the input the same way and lists every change, instead of quietly handing back a link that will not open.
| Typed | In the link | Why |
|---|---|---|
| @durov | t.me/durov | The @ is how a username is written in a chat, not in a link. |
| https://t.me/telegram/125 | t.me/telegram + post 125 | The name goes in the username box; the post number moves to its own field. |
| telegram.me/Durov | t.me/Durov | telegram.me and telegram.dog are old aliases of t.me. Case does not matter in usernames. |
| t.me/joinchat/AAAAAE… | t.me/+AAAAAE… | The old invite form, rewritten to the one Telegram uses now. Both open the same invite. |
| +44 7911 123456 | t.me/+447911123456 | Typed in the username box, it moves to the phone tab; spaces go, the + becomes part of the path. |
| 07911 123456 (UK) | t.me/+447911123456 | The trunk 0 is dropped once the country code is in front. |
| my-shop | — | Not a username Telegram can have: only a–z, 0–9 and _, 5 to 32 characters, starting with a letter. Flagged, not guessed at. |
Where it goes
Where to put your Telegram link
Instagram, TikTok and X bios
Paste the t.me link into the website field of your profile. Use the https:// link, not tg:// — bios open links in a browser first, and only t.me survives the trip.
A website or an email signature
The Website button gives a plain HTML “Message me on Telegram” or “Share on Telegram” button — no script, no widget, nothing slowing the page down.
Flyers, menus and packaging
Print the QR code where people already have a phone out. A scan with the camera opens the channel or chat straight in Telegram; for a private group it opens the join screen.
Tracking where people come from
Give a bot a different start parameter per place you post it — ?start=insta, ?start=flyer — and the bot sees which link each person used. For a person, a different ready message per link does the same job.
With the link in place, make the profile it opens look the part: a bio that fits Telegram’s 70 characters and a profile photo that is not cropped. On WhatsApp too? Make a wa.me link for your number.
